Notes About The Poem

Just a Cub

I was relaxing on the deck when I heard the rustle in the trees
I turned around to see my visitor friend standing on my lawn
Looking at me a bit, before turning around to go out back
So, I followed in a rush through the house to get another look
I stepped onto the side porch to look and to my surprise…
--A big mother bear was sitting down in the grass--
She was just off the steps in front of me, breathing with a huff!
---- My friend was just a cub---!

I couldn't figure out how to get the second photo in with this one , of the mother walking away in a bit of distance.

Thanks Jan. I may put in continue to this briefly, just to show the huge mother walking away in the trees in the distance. It was a once in a life time experience as close as I was, before she got up and walked away. Thanks for you visit. :)

That must have been really cool to see though a cub usually does mean the mama is around and I would have been up on the porch too...quickly. :) Really fun Heidi.

Then I guess the only way to get another photo in here (on the site) right now is that Big Mama Bear needs her own poem. : )

I was quite shocked to see the mother so close up, closer than ever in my life , Chris. My heart was beating so fast. I have to get a photo in here somehow of her walking away in the distance. She was a really big mother for a Black Bear!

Mama bears can get pretty aggressive when they have cubs. They are beautiful creatures. That is what I call, inspiration! Have a great weekend, Heidi:)

Awe how lovely. So cute but just hope they won't try to come into your home now :)

They have come around other times and thankfully, have not tried to get in the house. I don't leave bird feeders, trash or food around either. That is when there is trouble. Sadly last year, many were shot by trying to get into homes when people didn't remove these items from access.

I envy you living that close to creatures of the forest, the creatures I live close to are alligators, dolphins, sharks, eagles etc: I'm a forest guy living by the sea..go figure

Interesting Frederic. Maybe a trip to the forest when you can if you are not planning to transition later. Oh, the Eagles must be nice. I think the dolphins are fun too. Thanks for your visit.
