Juno

when she leaves the room
walking slowly
he follows just behind
ready to take a fall
just guarding
he knows to grab her socks from the drawer
he can pull it open
put he watches to see if she needs help
breathless sometimes
he'll let her sit on the garden wall
for a moment
then he brings the ball
get up get up
he knows she needs to play

this is actually about a dog caring for his aging owner, guarding, caring for her, helping as he can, and knowing he has to get her up and movin to keep her healthy, and WITH him! Thank you for reading my poetry

interesting last line. I'm guessing Juno's the male dog. I would have thought she knows he needs to play, as in the owner has to entertain the dog. In your vision, maybe the dog has the greater understanding. The owener needs to play, be active, not sit on the wall in thought for too long.
