Jumping To Conclusions

A comet blazed across the evening sky Soothsayers took up Armageddon’s cry Suddenly the whole world went awry, Hordes of people thought they’d die More reasonable people gave it a try But some said science does not apply, And I, I gave up with a disgusting sigh.
