Jumping Rope

Joining with my girlfriends on the playground,
Up and down in circles, we’d swing a rope.
My friends took turns. The rope swang round and round.
Playing is the school child’s ray of hope
In those recess times that we kids enjoyed so much.
No one got left out. Double ropes meant Double Dutch!
Glad were we taking turns swinging till our time to jump.

Round and round our ropes kept swinging till the school bell rang.
One by one we back into our classes ran.
Picturing those times now with my gal pal gang,
Even now I’d love to be right there once again!

What a wonderful memory Andrea! Your delightful acrostic brought back precious memories of jumping rope at recess with my girlfriends! And, I loved "double dutch!" This simple memory was so well penned in subtle hues like a memory! Thank you my friend for taking me back to those happy moments on the playground!

Lovely..Traditional games of our times were truly much enjoyable while keeping us fit. We used to tie rubber bands and made them as jumping rope. Now I still have that haha..

This is an excellent acrostic poem, my dear sister of God's inspirational grace, Andrea. I love the flow of the words and the impact of the "Rope Jumping" message. The descriptive excellence sends terrific images. The theme stands out, and the tone moves the piece down the page with much grace. Great job! I used to do a lot of rope jumping. Have a fantastic day and God's richest grace and blessings always. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/53812816-sincerely-speaking-spiritually.
