Judged

I remember her eyes
as i broke her heart
i felt the blood stop moving through my body
my heart a pounding lion
seemed to flutter to a stop
time stood in audience
and the scene now still
plays continually in my mind
no eraser to rub out past mistakes
no words can offer comfort
Trust broken and beaten gulps for breath
My soul is heavy laden
for i destroyed the beauty of true love
and name myself
monster
Sorry flirts easily from my lips
but words cannot convey
the shame i feel
for the heart i broke that day
