Joy of the Heart

Now this little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine... until I'm down by the river. As I wait for the good Lord... to pass my way. And even tho I have many rivers to cross, I'm reminded of the life he lost. To spare us... the cost. Because I was blind but now I see... watching as he walked the raging sea... trapped within me. I was lost, but by his blood... I am found... my soul... no longer... cast to the ground! Living once... with a chasm so wide... but by his stripes... I can reach the other side! knowing a love that never fails... steady watching as his hands... were driven by nails! His spirit committed to arms, that holds strong... waving their banners as they play the war song... cheering "crucify him" as the crowd marches on! Forgive them... for they know not what they do... words changed dark skies to blue... love was the only thing he... had for me and you! You see... for you and I... he paid a heavy price... to melt the hearts... of those who turned to ice! Saving us from sheer destruction... so the father may bring forth... our redemption! Vail ripped in two... revealing the heart of God... to me and you... a withered leaf he will not bruise... captured by his mercy... while my emotions take a cruise! As I lay here and reflect... on the outcome his death meant... all I can do is count my blessings... and pray that I continue his reflection... no longer following my own objection. Now this little light of mine... I'm going to let it shine... until I'm down by the river... As I wait for the good Lord... to pass my way. Thankful, for this new day!
