Joy and Sorrow

Held in hands, gently
like a butterfly
A dream of reality
A hope for the future
A glint of joy
of happiness

But as hands are opened
and thee fae fly away
The dream dissolve
the future becomes
the past
The happiness dies away

Do not feel sorrow
do not weep,
be strong.
This happiness
is not wrong
this joy is not a sin.

It should be savoured
Appreciated, enjoyed
Loved for the moment.
Do not overlook a
moment of ecstasy
for the view
Of years of sorrow.
They are too scarce.
