Joy

Joy is not in things but is in you
In our pursuits to find joy in accumulating things,
We loose sight in what is most important,
And we get so lost in all the excitement life brings,
Looking for joy in everything which is unimportant.

Sadly the joy we seek in stuff, does not last forever,
It soon fades or gets old with each passing year,
The joy we think things will bring is never clever,
It can not be found in what we possess nor in our career.

This lasting joy we long for each day of the year,
Is found through faith in God who lives in you,
By putting your trust in God who is always near,
You will experience the eternal joy you never knew.
