Journeys In and Out of Time
From over distant skyline
rides tomorrow’s eternity . . .
Eclipsing the rising sun
with a silent tranquillity.
Through the dreams of unborn babes
travel the truths of what’s to come,
To be pushed from mortal minds
when their worldly life’s begun.
Love becomes the skeltered cloud
breaking in and out of the hearts,
Casting the shadows of doubt
that fall like rains of pois’ness darts.
Beauty lasts but for the day,
passing by and then soon forgot,
Yet still held for one kept true
is the pure soul which was first sought.
Pathways join the dusted roads
that disappear from youthful views;
Moving into the unknown,
heeding a call they can’t refuse.
Sailing ships have caught the breeze
from a time too hard to conceive,
And left upon crumbling docks
are those whom were not meant to leave.
Pride and prejudice are joined
by the slow fading memories,
They await embodiment
in a forest thinned by disease.
As implied in scripture’s old,
new days will come without a fuss;
Been silently looking for
each and every one of us.
Once again off to the east
there be signs of a setting sun,
And still are with lessons learned,
the ones who walk before they run.
Nothing much in looking back
will slow the dance of future’s mime;
Even less will change the course
of journeys in and out of time.
