Journey to Nowhere

Love's warm embrace—unknown to me, A hopeless chase, where's home to be? Alone and broken, life fades away, A journey's end in disarray. An open casket, tears are shed, At least the pain will soon be dead. My heart won't burn, nor ache in vain, When will the end come, take me from this pain? I've longed for this day through countless years, Why can't I find joy, why all these tears? Why do those I cherish flee? Who am I, where should I be? Where joy once dwelt, now void and bare, Where dreams were dreamt, high in the air, Now only shadows, nothing's found, In silent sorrow, I am bound.
