Journey of our lives

Dear brother, from humble roots we grew
In poverty's grip,our childhood knew
We climbed the ladder, jobs in hand
Salaried lives,no longer bland.

Your calm demeanor,s gentle soul
Kindly and helpful, you played that role
People's favorite,loved by all
Untill COVID made its cruel call.

Though you've departed from this earth,
I cherish memories of our shared mirth.
Our past lives replay in my mind,
The bond we had,one of a kind.

As I continue on life's long way,
Your memory lingers day by day.
Till my journey reached its end,
I'll remember you, my dearest friend.

In every step,in every breath,
Our connection stronger than death.
Brother mine, though you're out of sight,
In my heart,you're forever bright.

( In memory of my younger brother

Sad to lose someone so close to you and from such a senseless ill that hit the world so hard. My husband and I both had it, but we survived it, and I don't know how. We did get the vaccinations and were hoping that we could get another one to keep us from getting it, but it got us before we could get the third one. I haven't really been well since I had it.
