Joseph and Julekha

We were like ancient Egypt’s Joseph and Julekha You attracted me But guilty feelings barred me again and again From making love to you We were like two flowers on a branch of tree A stranger has plucked you up And sold you in the marketplace We were like two birds singing a love song A storm has separated us and we are lost Now we are like one soul having two bodies Living in two separate worlds all day all night With hopes and dreams like a dying supernova
