Are you perhaps obliquely referencing Mr. Cynan Jones' "Guernica?" Just a thought...

Hee hee, nobody else asked. The reference is Tommy Lee Jones, but "Jones" has it's own weight as a word; in an interview about Natural Born Killers he talks about Picasso's Guernica. Gonna look up Mr Cynan now... xomo!

Now that I think of it, most war photographs I have seen are in black and white - great visuals here!

Picasso is certainly considered as the Homer of painting himself however didn't seem to think much of himself, at least so it appears if we believe the story told by a friend of his who, observing Pablo leaving his paintings untenanted outside his atelier, asked him : " Pablo, aren't you afraid that someone might steal your paintings?" " Not at all " replied Picasso " I have not signed them yet. " You, my dearest Maureen, have already signed your masterpiece ...so be careful! Hugs xxx

Maureen this is wonderful. I hope it isn't for a contest. I saw the real Guernica at the Sophia Regina in Madrid. Picasso being a favorite. I stood and stared at those panels for almost an hour. It is beautiful in the most horrific way. I looked at the paint that was over painted many times. The horse was screaming more underneath. Picasso was also asked by a Nazi colonel, "Did you paint this?" He replied, "No, you did."

Thank you so much Jeff! Nope! Not for contest, just for myself, he's a favourite of mine too. Have not had privilege to see Guernica, I would probably need a couple hours myself. Wanted to get one of his sketches of that horse head tattooed but artist refused to rip the master. I do have his Bull's Head ;)
