Jolly Holly, the Fisher Lady

* * * NOT HEADED FOR A CONTEST * * * Jolly Holly wanted nothing more than to fish In her entire life, she had made only one wish All I need is a boat One that will stay afloat She had never been described as a sexy dish Holly had other attributes. She sure could cook And no one else was better at baiting a hook With minnows and grubs She stayed out of pubs Because most men never gave her a second look There was an air about her... not a pleasant one It was a fishy smell that fellers liked to shun Then one day she met Gus A man, big as a bus! He looked at Holly and said, "Take me fishin, hon." Wasn't long, 'fore Gus moved in with Jolly Holly The fished all day and made love each night, by golly He married that lil lass On a boat, catchin' bass Got a collie and twin girls, Molly and Polly

A fisherman and a fisher girl… a match made in heaven. A great fun write, Jenna. I would ask why you’re not entering the contest but then I’d have to turn off commenting. Ha ha! Terry

Thank you very much for liking these limericks, Terry. I have no problem telling you why I've not entered the contest...the sponsor, but then I don't think that would surprise anyone. lol I appreciate your visit and comments.

Excellent string of fun Limericks Jenna, I see where you got the idea from, yeah it’s probably not a good idea to enter the contest, they all seem to be self imploding for this particular sponsor, much too difficult for us mere mortals, I’m impressed with your fishing knowledge, cheers David, hey captcha MBY

I thought I was being over touchy re ‘that woman’. As a fisherman who loves humour and rhyme, that latest contest was right up my street, but, out of sheer principle, I decided not to enter. I mean, what’s with the ‘Ill say what I like but you won’t reply’ thing?

haha. Yes, there's no way I'd ever enter one of her contests with the way she insults poets by saying most entries were not good enough. I love fishing, always have. MBY for Moby. ;) Thanks, David.
