Joe Biddy

Joe Biddy-dee-doe
He didn't know
How careful he ought to be
Joe Biddy-dee-day
Went outside to play
And wandered too near the sea.
Along came a shark
And just for a lark
He ate Joe Biddy-dee-dee.

I was so curious as to what 1968 and 1969 meant. Thank you for the explanations. Joe Biddy dee Dee sounds so 60's! I can see singing this around my campfire.

A book from 1845, Slovenly Struwwelpeter, terrorized and delighted me as a child, and was my inspiration. Later there arose Shel Silverstein who cornered the market for fearful children's poems!

Thanks! I began writing the "Questionable Daycare Poems and Stories" when I was a teenager, and now that I'm a senior citizen, still add a new one from time to time. Always planning to collect them in one book but never get around to it, too many projects.
