Job Burnout: Brevity Contest
This BREVITY poem I wrote was for Casarah Nance's
contest. Closed already! So printing my poem anyway
I love my job,
I really do.
Even though my hours are long
and the benefits are sometimes few.
I make the coffee for the crew,
and a zillion other things
for them I do.
Jobs are important!
So I'll hold on to mine,
because never again do I want
to stand in the unemployment line.
Sometimes I feel unappreciated,
in this job I've been given.
But I know as a wife and mother
it's the best kind of livin'
However, at times, I YELL,
"Enough! Enough! Enough!"
And to my husband I say,
"Here, you change your son's diaper.
I'm finished for the day."
"The children are all fed,
and your wife is going to bed!"
