Jesus Died And Rose For You And Me
Consider this title for all its worth
this is the Son of God, Jesus, the only one
He took our sins to Calvary's cross
there, He paid the ultimate price as God's son
Jesus became our substitute in our place
we should have paid it instead of Him
but out of His abundant love so priceless
He took our judgment right over the brim
But God the Father raised Him up
three days later, death's power was beat
this same Jesus walked again on earth
proving He is God, so bow at His mercy seat
Then Jesus ascended to His Father's side
there interceding on our behalf there
eternally in that place till He returns
for His elect under the holy Spirit's care
Come and celebrate our Thanksgiving
to this Lord Jesus, our great love
be eternally grateful for His faithfulness
His grace, His mercy, which came from above
Thank Him for His blessed shed blood
that covers our sins, blotting them out
bringing His imputed righteousness upon us
so not one sin can the Father eternally count
Praise the holy name of Jesus
God's lovely son forever, amen!
never forget all that He has done
glorious in His name, my forever friend
