Jerry Built and Jerry Rigged

Jerry built in the dictionary means shoddy craftsmanship. I had a cousin named Little Jerry. He built many wonderful things. There was nothing lacking in his ability, tools, or his finished products. The next word in the dictionary was jerry-rigged. Another dispersion on the name Jerry. I could not help wondering now. Was there one person who held out until the last second When they were editing the dictionary? Did he have a beef with a neighbor or relative named Jerry? Did the others know he had thrown these two words in? Or had the entire dictionary committee been burned by a carpenter named Jerry whose work was cheap and tawdry?
