"Good night, good night! Parting as such, is sorrow so sweet and bitter?"

we agreed to part
go separate ways
parting as such,
with sorrow 
bitter 'n sweet?
sorta
chat sometimes
meet up too, politely, 
with 'how's it going' texts
for the kids?
sorta
there's truce in trenches
with lay of arms,
air kiss hugs
looking away
with humphs 
of disdain? 
sorta
destruction is sudden,
so quick 'n easy
fast to gel 'n dry
healing is slow
takes time to grow
so we go 
with the flow?
sorta 
we're still friends
aren't we?
missing the echos
in mementos that ply 
sly sighs?
