Jealous Spouse

Married to cooking
in love with writing
when the Muse walks in
In the kitchen I'm frying
rice, carrots, garlic a sin
I abandon for a few verses that rhyme
return to find black smoke with grime
hardened charcoal to dine
revenge of that jealous spouse of mine

Clever how you gave that spouse character and a need for revenge. I have a tendency to walk away from cooking for a peak outside in the garden and come back to find it burnt. What is your favorite thing to cook?

Oats are my favorites! When they burn I turn them into coffee.
