Jealous of Yesterday
I'm jealous of my yesterdays
Those faces shining bright
Who used to grace our presence
Family parties sheer delight
I cannot live in memory
Though there I long to dwell
Where celebrations laughter
Cheered us with "All is well!"
Grandmas, grandpas, parents too
Sisters, brothers, we miss you!!!
Aunts, and Uncles, Cousins sweet
And friends that we would often greet
I know we'll meet past this earth's haze
In a new dawn of sunny days
But how I long for each your face
To dwell with us in earthly place
Selfishly, passionately
My heart longs, deeply pained
Forgive my impish selfishness,
I'll see you all again
But there is this last errand
That's haunting me tonight
I must take down that Christmas tree
Valentine's Day draws near sight
But I still had my sister dear
when it was last strung up with cheer
She's gone beyond, healed now, and well
With family there, who so long dwell
But Never have I felt such gloom
To take down Christmas from this room
For somehow that will make it real
How I face this sore ordeal
I'm the selfish baby sis
Who longs for her, and those we miss
But though I dread earth's sad tomorrow
I gain joy, because life's sorrow
Will all be one day washed away
On the Holy Resurrection Day
8) He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.
9) And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. ~ Isaiah 25:8-9 KJV
