Jazz Singers

Sammy Davis and Ella Fitzgerald, jazz singers
Their b'deed'lee-dip riffs on the Sullivan show didn't linger
In America's consciousness, and that's really too bad
They were surely the best jazz singers America's ever had

I like jazz, and you are right. We do not currently have any really great jazz singers but Kenny G reminds me of a jazz saxophone player.

Sad, isn't it? With all the opportunity out there today, you'd think that music would be better than ever... :) gw

There are plenty of us who like jazz singers and jazz, period! I like Blues, too. Modern music is pretty creepy to me Not all, I think you know what I mean. Panagiota

Yes, I am pretty sure I know what you mean by 'creepy modern music.' We just might be 'two peas in a pod' here. :) gw

Oh, I hope some people look for Sammy and Ella on You Tube on their appearance together on the Ed Sullivan show. It was truly remarkable. Thanks for the suggestion, Kim! :) gw

Great...they shared art with the world...and with Jazz...probably the best contribution to music ever, out of America
