Jaws of the Wolf
This maelstrom we endure
This era of anguish
Caught in a backlash
Of fury and fist
From the first warning, gone!
To the danger zone
Of struggle and strife
And far from home
For the storm clouds that form
With the cold winds that blow
Are blizzard conditions
That blind with the snow
And we’re twisted and turned
Tormented and tossed
In cyclones of swirl
We’re cast off and lost –
As we strive to survive
‘Neath the bruising skies
We’re running in place
And cannot deny
The snarl and the snap
Of fang and of tooth
Hot on our heels
The jaws of the wolf –
