JANUARY JOY

Jubilantly, I embrace the gift of each new year,
As I pray God banishes each old doubt and fear.
New opportunities arrive; old ones are renewed.
Upcoming days, I know, with God’s love will be imbued.
As Christian, mama, grandma, and neighbor, I’ll strive to be
Responsive to others’ needs while keeping some time free.
Yielding to my muse’s guidance, I will just be me!

Jesus’s love warms my heart on cold gray January days.
On my birthday, I give Him special praise.
Years fly by, as upon life’s wonders I gaze.
