January 1st

A whole new
Irksome block of monotony
Placed at my door
By night.
Climb up or down as you please
Vacuous and silly I am all agog.
Some crazys have not slept
To herald
My wife, sterner stuff
As usual
Shakes off the ennui
And ignores the banal.

A great feeling of weariness all through this Jag; you manage to put the feeling just right till the last 2 lines when your wife saves the day!

I enjoyed this. I was thinking maybe you were personifying January for a second there. That would be a good one to give Nette for her January contest, if you were personifying the month!
