January
Jaded we may feel as we grow older and older, and yet
At its appointed time, the new year unfalteringly approaches.
New hope shines on an otherwise barren horizon.
Unglamorous and even a little ugly the world may seem
As we in winter’s grasp already dream of a rosy spring!
Ripe resolutions are being birthed in January’s gloom; as time races on,
Yearning for things more beautiful and bright seems a frivolous plight.
