Jaded Partitions

Are you old and tired? What are you waiting for? The sun that rose for you every morning Has left your termite-eaten, hollow walls- faded, jaded! Yet you wake up every morning, You brush your lone molar, twin canines! What can you tear? What’s left to chew? Your sweetheart once, Your heart’s rhythm, Your love in youth, Your lover still, Is weary too! Yet, lies awake All night through. Afraid to lose- Her love to chance, Hoping still, For a chance to love. Your pride is swollen, But your love vacant Your joints stiff And your mind unbending… Wake up from this gory dream And let the fatigued walls collapse. For, on the other side Of this partition, A symphony waits to explode, Your waltz of love to enchant, …and your union to freeze time!
