Jade and Onyx

Oh, once upon a time I saw a bird. The bird was sitting, lonely, on a tree. I looked at it and it looked down at me. Then it flew off and left without a word. I thought to myself it was quite absurd That it should leave me here along the sea, Without so much as just one thought to "we"; Pretending like I never was deferred. Oh, why should I be left here unpreferred? Whose fault was that, to be the standard way? Why should you leave me all alone, unheard? What pow'r have I, when compared to a bird? You've gone and left me stranded in the bay. I have been waiting ever since that day.
