Jack 89
It’s written in your face, I can see it in your eyes
I don’t need to hear the words, to know your lies
From my friends they’ll be no shock, no surprise
They tried to tell me your love was all a disguise
I always countered, they couldn’t see what I could see
You were genuine, caring and accepted me for being me
But as time went on and things began to unfold
From the excuses given and the blatant truths untold
Bit by bit, the mask slipped from your disguise
And slowly the bitter truth I started to realise
I didn’t need to hear the words, to know the lies
It was written in your face, I should’ve seen it in your eyes
