Ivory Towers

Please, please tell me if I am too much Sometimes my personality overpowers If I belabor a point, or scream, or such, Please, please tell me if I am too much. If I am losing it, or if I am out of touch, I need to come down from ivory towers Please, please tell me if I am too much, Sometimes my personality overpowers.

I think you may be a lot like me; people don't have to wonder what I'm thinking! LOL! Good one, Milton. Janice

Lol Milt, with your wisdom, I'd say you're not enough! We all have our own approach, it's the intentions behind it. I am here for friendship, even though my approach often fails due to political rifts, there is a way! phew :)

There'll be an investigation to see where you obtained the ivory to construct these towers. One of my poetic mantra is "It is the nature of the poet to provoke not to explain". If what you write and the ideas you share inspires(tongue in cheek here) a response form others then consider it successful. For as we quote many times "I may not agree with what you say but I will defend with my life your right to say it",,,,,WRITE ON McMILT WRITE ON.....

Oh, I plan to, John. Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment. I think any ivory I own (which is zilch) would be grandfathered! (chuckling)

Milton I always live by the Golden rule. This keeps me in check. That is "Treat others as how you would want to be treated." Thats it you follow that rule and you will never have to worry, my friend. When you don't treat someone with the same compassion you want to be treated then you can maybe question if you were maybe insensitive to someones feelings or thoughts. We are all human and we all fall short of perfection my friend. I have wished I had not said what I have said and I still regret it

Wow, thanks so much, Michael, for your thoughtful comment on my introspective poem. I have read every word carefully, and I so agree with you, except I'm not so sure about my "humility."

because I hurt that individual and it was a deep hurt that I caused and I am ashamed of. When I am angry is when it happens. Anger is usually the cause of it for me. I try very hard sometimes to give it to God, to turn the cheek if you will. It helps me cope now. My life has changed so much since when I was younger. The ego and pride can do serious destruction in one's life. Humility and meekness is what I choose to be like. We are a work in Progress my friend. When you realize you have a problem it is the beginning of truth and change. The love in you toward your fellow man will make you a champion in front of others and more importantly in front of God. May the good Lord soothe your heart and give you peace to know you are loved and forgiven...

Relax, Milt. Take a deep breath. Just be yourself. Just my opinion -- but when you hearken back to the Shenendoah Valley, you rediscover your best self! :) :) Happiness and Joy, Gershon

Thank you so much, gw. Aw, I agree that my best self is found in the West Virginia hills. There is where I find my "best self!"
