Ivory Tower People

How do we go through life with degrees?
And always, always blame someone for our needs!

Sad, Ivory Tower midgets are we!
Living in outreageous arrogance, but always blaming thee!

Big heads, but no hearts.
Blame, blame, are our poison darts.

Who, we? We are perfect you see?
Ineffective, irresponsible, intellectuality!

What have you done for the earth?
Besides quipping, off the cuff, ineffective mirth?

Couldn't agree with you more, especially those with PhD's in the Humanities, aka as the enablers of the Black Panthers, the Chicago Seven, the Hippies, Cuba and the Soviet Union, Bernie Sanders, BLM, Portland and Seattle-type Lawlessness, George Floyd Memorials... ad nauseum, ad infinitum. PhD = Piled Higher and Deeper... The worst deal on the open market today is a college degree, plunging its holder into unimaginable debt -- for what?! ~ gw

LOL...times in the 70’s, cannot even compare to today. I mean about Chicago, it’s violence gone through thr roof, black Panthers were not Communists, which is what BLM is. Peace Marches on Michigan Avenue, were peaceful. Looting came decades later and defund the Police. Whites were not alienated from Blacks.that’s my take on it, No not referring to Chicago riots at Dem Convention. DEMS OUT TO TAKE DOWN HISTORY, THE CONSTITUTION AND OUR RIGHTS. I remember when they were not tyrannical. Poroganda per Stalin and Hitler is all the mainstream media is. I don’t lije lies. And that’s all they popogate. Censorship is raging. The evil are free.if you are good,,,into jail you go.you will never see the Afghani women beaten on lamestream media. These Lies keep us ignorant, and possibly dead. Especially, the WH, telling us that the cause of empty shelves is us?? As usual, it’s never the Dams fault.w e as I for rough days....Pangie. Thank you

What have you done for humanity? Have you taught about appreciation of others? Have you opened minds? This poem relates to what is going on in colleges and universities which is indoctrination and avoiding teaching appreciation of others or the earth. The degree is meaningless unless the person wants to teach and has heart.

An eye opening comment Madelyn...a degree is a piece of paper that indicates you completed X number of courses. Pride and winning at all costs, stalk this world. It's like each day the Daytona 500. "It stinks" Dean Wormer in " Animal House." Many thanks, Pangie

Hi Pangie; fortunately (in my opinion, was best for me), my degree is living, and not academia. But I do admire those who get one (some subjects very difficult to master) (while still keeping one's individuality and sanity) -- having met a few Professors. They really don't teach free thinking anymore (more interested in pumping out indoctrinated clones). We are a marvelous creation: from wheels to rockets and H-bombs. Very easy to get lost in our own powers, forgetting the one who gave them.

Remember Einstein had a good Quote on this. I sent it to you last week! Even poets grow fat heads. Roflmao I have been around accomplished people in many fields. Their hallmark is humility not arrogance, the last thing they do is compete with others. They give, not take. I know you are a giver here and to humanity. Glad to know you...Pangie

A degree is a piece of paper showing that one completed a task. It is not an indication of one's future success or character.

Nor is achievement in the world, a true measure of IQ. Some of the smartest are only great to God. I know, here I am sounding like a preacher again -- can't help it. I will try harder to tame my admiration, if you wish. Blessings Elena -- oops! Did it again. Hopeless.
