Ivory Rose

Me, falling asleep
found you, ivory rose
in deepest sleep,
cut off,
and suddenly lost colour,
carried away
through willow undergrowth,
defenceless in the rain.
The ivory rose were you,
floating away from thoughts
in lonely passage of clouds.
A solitary song,
the early twilight,
quickly awaking
as if in feverish dreams.
The ivory rose,
vanished,
lost in the early day
like flight of birds.

Gert, I sense a great loss of someone special. Someone beautiful, pure and precious. This poem is like a dreamy memory. When life vanishes suddenly like birds migrating. And irreplaceable thoughts remain. Am I right? The words have depth and pleasing beauty. Lovingly, Dane
