I'Ve Succumbed

My body failing to be young
My strongest past years I have sung
Bruises they appear
Cancer is a fear
Some unexpressed pains on my tongue

First fingers then wrists do succumb
An old lady I have become
New knees and some hips
Why not some new lips?
My age has me simply undone

oh my, a bit sad for a limerick, but yes, it 's so true!! I wish you had only submitted the second of these two. THen you would have scored higher, Jeanne. Congrats . your meter and humor in the second one were wonderful.

When you get those new lips, please update your photograph, and make them big ones. I love it when the movie stars do that.

My sympathies, Jeanne (if this is biographical) … You've certainly described the symptoms well. Best of luck in the contest! :) gw
