I'Ve Been Saved

standing on the corner holding my last ten
should I get some food or get high once again
uncertain and unsure of what I should do
trying to decide between a "hit" or a cup of soup
wondering if I should "score"
eager to get high some more

my whole life, my entire situation
had been reduced to an existence of quiet desperation
thinking that I had a handle on my drug addiction
when deep inside all I wanted
was to no longer be in this prediction
"the living dead" is what I had become
until I heard about Jesus, God's anointed son
who came to earth to be a living sacrifice
and offer me salvation and eternal life
Jesus Christ the one they call "The Living God"
He came with love for all mankind deep within His heart
He died so that I could be cleansed of all my sin
and opened the path for us to be with God again
and through His words I have discovered
a life living foundation that has helped me to recover
today I shout out loud, I rant and rave
I'm no longer an addict for through Christ
I've been saved.

Awesome sacrifice of praise! He is the one we have to be truly thankful for everything in life. This was a great testimony put in the form of a poem. Congratulations on your win because you truly "shed your skin"!
