I'Ve Been Better

My bones have weakened to jello
over a man who refuses
to adore me
yet I feel poetically inclined
to write of this chimerical affection
until my heart has nothing
left to say,
collapses,
heals herself (although time gets all the credit),
or falls in another denial
with someone more deserving
of such foolishness

hopefully...
