It's Time To Wake Up

I’m tired, I look to my left, I look to my right, Do you know what I see? People’s stares, That burn like flares, Eyes that only seek judgement Not enlightenment, A girl posts a photo, If she gets 200+ likes she is pretty, All the boys will want her, However if she gets 2 likes she is ugly, And no boy wants her, Gone are the days when beauty was a thing of beauty, For now it’s just a name, The more it’s said to you, The more you know it’s you, Wake up I’m tired, I look to my left, I look to my right, Do you know what I see? Everyone is scrolling, Blindly following, Constantly seeking approval, Comparing themselves to pictures of, “Perfect couples” “Perfect people” Having the time of their lives, Giving us unattainable standards, Wake up. I’m tired, I look to my left, I look to my right, Do you know what I see? Social media is the world we live in, But it’s all just fantasy, Just a medium of mind control, Making countless commit suicide, Making countless people cut themselves, A place where the minority, With the vote of the majority, Decide what is right. It’s like a dictatorship, They set laws called trends, And we have no choice but to follow, Or we be labelled backward and uncool, Or we be humiliated and judged in the courts of Facebook, Or we be persecuted in the prisons of Instagram, And displayed on the pages of snapchat. It’s no longer about what is right, It’s about what is new, trending.

Yes your poetry is very well percieved and of acute observation. I see as you and love unique individual owned expressed dialogue which is considerate in a way as well worded to give caution which is from clever unveiling possibly thg o those who never knew. An observer is a philosopher in a way that can make something unseen but not hidden seen by others too. Selfless and kind as well as wise... good for you..
