IT'S THERE

It’s there
Y’know
Like the aftermath of pop corn
Stuck
Irretrievably
Ensconced
Imbedded
In the grinding mechanism
Dodging the gnash
Of frustration need
Y’know
That pesky poetic seed
Tormenting synaptic calm
Buzzing like a 2AM mosquito
Humming an unheard song
Dancing on the edge of a thought
Whispering in the silence
Of poetic lethargy

Arise, oh muted muse,
Grasp the trembling gauntlet
Lend it purpose
Suit it in poetic armor
Mount your steed

LET THE JOUSTING BEGIN

I'm impressed by the opening of this poem, John. I think that 'the aftermath of popcorn' is a good description of what our whole world has become. :) gw

what a delightful take on the case of the missing muse. The last four lines are priceless. Faving.

I am in need of help oh muted muse - for my poetic lethargy has silenced me - well written.
