It's the Most Poetic Time, of the Year

Anybody feel like singing? :)

It’s the most poetic time, of the year
where the writers are writing,
the blog pages fighting
and comments of cheer
It’s the most poetic time, of the year

It’s the soup, soupiest season of all
with those verses a’ flowing
of winter and snowing
and decking the hall
It’s the soup, soupiest season of all

You’ll read stanzas of loving
of snowballs they’re gloving
and packages under the tree

There’ll be lines filled with phrases
of faith and its praises
in every poem you see

It’s the most poetic time, of the year
you’ll find poems for reading
with broken hearts bleeding
it soon will be clear
It’s the most poetic time, of the year

~

Written to the melody of the song: "It's the most wonderful time of the year"

I feel like singing, even though I haven't sang much in so long. Thank you for this fun poem Chris :)

I love how you matched the song's rhythm, Chris. I used to do this with Xmas songs. I am thinking of doing it with a current contest but not matching my rhythm to a song, but rather to a famous poem with a very distinct meter. Really fun read here.

this is the fun version to sing at the soup Xmas party. But when it's cold outside, what else is one to do but blog and poesy? Good one, Chris :))

dang! you are ready with all the tunes so we need to send a petition for a party to team poetry soup! Hopefully they'll set one up in time, or else we'll have to head south and have a white Christmas in New Zealand or Argentina; who cares if it's in July? as long as we sing your lyrics! hehe

Looks like I peeked in at the right time for a song. A witty little ditty, Chris. I think you described the happenings here adequately...ALMOST covering every aspect. Almost but not quite, for to include all of its idiosyncrasies would probably get you in trouble.

I gave up premium membership when things got much too nasty. Then discovered that all of the pictures I'd posted with my poetry when I was paying for the privilege had been deleted by the "admin" when I did not renew. Hardly fair since I had paid for that privilege.

I thought about Lin but I am not a "Premium Member" and I only have so many words I can post and to be honest, to cover every one of those idiosyncrasies I'd need more words than even the "Premium Members" get. : ) Thanks so much my friend.
