It's Just a Dream

It’s Just a Dream

It’s just a dream
I know it’s fake
I’ll be alone
When I awake

There is no one
To hold me tight
Or wake me up
At the edge of night

And when I rise
In this giant bed
The sheets go cold
And all is said

To those who see me
From hope’s warm nest
You’ll never know
From where I rest

It’s bright and airy
Yet sheds no light
And all I sense
Is my own plight

While you can see
My pain so clear
You’ll never know
How much I fear

Though hope may search
In all this shame
There is no trace
I have no name
