It's Heaven When I Sleep
Weary at the end of a long, punishing day.
It's heaven when I close my eyes to sleep;
tightly-held preoccupations and woes drift away
as I slowly sink into a calm, bottomless deep.
Such a liberating escape, finally counting sheep.
Off to dreamland, I go, and Morpheus leads the way.
I wish you'd come with me, and off we'll creep
to a peaceful heath in my dream where butterflies play
