It is better to love
than live alone by self
Time will end and bring naught
for you but sense of loss
Sharing life's values caught.
It is better to love
than give self piety
For piety is pride
and is not man's measure
Love makes wonderful bride
It is better to love
than seek filthy lucre
Such can leave you alas
then sorrow's thine alone
Love has no farewell pass
It is better to love
than to live for short pleasures
They have little return
and often lead to death.
Love shows wrong to discern
