It's Better This Way

You ask me why I avoid you
you think that I despise
you feel betrayed and all alone
a thought that brings tears to your eyes

so here I'll tell the reason
I stay away from you
it might seem really silly
but it's because I love you

but I'm not good enough
to tell you so is wrong
but you need to know I don't hate you
because I've loved you all along

It's for your sake I stay away
and I hope you understand
that if it was up to me
beside you I would always stand

but It's not my choice
because I'm not good
and I'm trying to do
what I know I should

So please don't think I hate you
because I stay away
I do want to be near you
but it's really better this way

Or maybe this is fictional? In any event, a nice poem. Anne Hessler December 5, 2013 at 6:36 AM I think it's fictional but considering I don't yet completly know myself anythings possible
