It's Autumn

Summer came quickly and ended abruptly
Nothing stays the same
Autumn is a time for change
It’s the most beautiful time of the year
Rustic orange, red, yellow, and green colors everywhere
Today is the day
God’s beauty is on display
The silence is troubled by the swaying of the trees
In the early morning the dew on the grass starts to freeze
As time goes backwards and the late nights are cooler
It’s the perfect cuddling weather
A bright high blue sky
A caterpillar flying as a butterfly
Temperatures starting to go low
That means soon here comes the snow
The trees have revealed their colorful defeat
I love to hear the leaves crunch under my feet
Don’t you want some apple pie and coffee favored pumpkin spice?
Right about now that sure sounds nice
I'm overflowing with nervous excitement
I know that winter has resentment

I like the "colorful defeat". That's a good way to describe the leaves dying. Well written.
