It's All My Fault

I saw you that fateful day at school
When my eyes struck yours, I was in awe
I've loved you since that day
But every time I try to express myself, I'd stop
Choking on my words
And so for years I just wondered what could be
But finally I asked you out at Senior prom
You said that you would love too
You said that you have been waiting for 6 years
I was flustered with emotions of agony
Yet our dance was led by joy
You walked off to a distant college
Leaving our blossoming love to wither
As I thought to myself, why didn't I ask before?
To this day, I wait for you
I wait for our love to have a chance to blossom once more
I regret never showing my true feelings
Until it was too late
