It's a Shore Thing, Not a Sure Thing

I am not sure what it is that lures me there time and time again perhaps it's the thunder you can almost feel like a heart racing in anticipation as you watch the waves build in a rhythmic peak thrust forward and climax as they wet kiss the sand perhaps it's the colors the pink-lemonade splash against almost bare flesh as the cotton-candy clouds appear to touch its edge while a half risen sun emerges from its depth perhaps it's the treasures it leaves behind that mask its fury with innocence like childhood memories within the depths of mind that bring me back again perhaps it's more... I love the ocean especially at sunrise when not many people are on it, you can hear the dolphins and seagulls playing while watching the sunrise from its edge~ Thank you

You're a very introspective writer. You write in ways that are suggestive, rather than implicit ... I like that. I personally like the foggy Oregon coastline where you can walk for hours, not even realizing you're not wearing shoes; where certain coast lines sound almost to "crackle" as the water glides over it. I like the beach, but I live 10 hours away and don't visit very often!

i seem to do that alot...or deep metaphors....one of my first poems on here was called writers suicide...it suggested something in graphic detail but was talking about something else.... the beach is one of my favorite places...i love the walks alone...maybe its because my family is gone and it's where we spent the most family time as a unit...who knows

Perhaps it's more... a wealth of meaning and expectation in those three words. "as they wet kiss the sand" is both an innocent and erotic line. I like your writing style, Sandra. The right combination of words elevates a write to real poetry... Will always try to come back for more read...hugs
