It'Ll Never Be Home

It'll never be home By Michelle Morris 08/11/2022 I went through our boxes And found too many memories All wrapped up in good and bad I found it overwhelming I gave it all away, yeah So many beautiful things So many things that Reminded me of us And, yes, there are moments Oh, yes, there are those moments When I wish I could get it all back Again... Again... Again... But, now, here I am With nothing but a house It'll never be home Without you here A shell of a house No pictures or photographs Nothing that says That we were one Ever...Ever...Before... Ever...Ever...More... I live in this space It's too much for one person Insulated from neighbours Far from the maddening crowd It took me years But I found my inner peace Away from the world Away from who we were And, yes, there are moments Oh, yes, there are those moments When I wish I could get it all back Again... Again... Again... But, now, here I am With nothing but a house It'll never be home Without you here A shell of a house No pictures or photographs Nothing that says That we were one Ever...Ever...Before... Ever...Ever...More... It'll never be home Without you here It's never home Unless you're here With me... With me... With me... I miss you... I miss you... I miss you... © Michelle Morris, 2022

Oh Michelle, this poem is beautifully intense, aching with heartbreak. It made my own heart ache. Well written, I could see it so clearly. Hugs to you.... ~BJ
