BUT WHAT WAS IT? I cannot believe she would really take it But it mattered not since she was about to grip my heart and break it During all the hub-bub, tumult and chaos she stopped and said “Go get it” And even if it wanted to stay she would not let it She knew that what she was taking was taking the she I had when she was not around But I’ve heard tell that even sailors sometimes cry when their ship runs aground And if they wanted to look as if they were dying no one had fake it But I wouldn’t give a s**t because she remembered to take it Now she can treat it to an opera or a day by the deep blue sea They can do whatever they choose without me How can a woman take a dream, a heart, desire with fidelity and so forsake it?
