Once there was a love
That was a pearl of dew
Glowed in my heart’s meadow
In its luster I found your charm.
In your charisma glittered a love
Brighter than the patina of rose
The wafting scent reminded me

Prettier than the butterfly
That flew away from my garden
It would never come back.
The spent golden sun had set
In the gloomy sky of winter
The cold wind whispered to me

Fathomless as the seamless sea
I sailed in the wrecking storm
Drifted to the forlorn shore.
I walked deserted on dune of despair
Followed the fleeting mirage
Reached the oasis where I felt
Once there was a love.
