This is an early one from my series "My mission in a Poembook"
When you serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints you leave home for a period of 18 month to 2 years and during that time you will not be able to see your family and you will only be allowed to communicate with them on Mondays. Which I admit is hard!
When I left I was so sure I wasn't going to be super sad. WHO WAS I KIDDING? I was heartbroken. I cried on half the ride to the airport. And waiting for the plane. And for two of the three hours I spent on the plane. I'm pretty sure the flight attendants were worried about me cuz they kept checking in. Leaving home was so hard, but in the end so worth it and I found new friend and had an amazing experience the whole 18 months I was away from home.
Hope you enjoy!
