It Was You

It was you that made me feel this way, with your promises and your lies And then when your promises weren't kept tears overflowed my eyes It was you that made me question my beauty and my grace Because I caught you fishing for another to take my place It was you that aided in killing my self-esteem Wondering what you could possibly see in her that you didn’t see in me Was I too fat, or maybe not PHAT ENOUGH, Was it because I didn’t have time to get a pedicure and my feet begin to look to rough Was it because there isn’t enough hours in a day For me to work, be a mom and still have time to beautify myself in every way Is this body that carried your baby for 9 months not what you seek anymore? So Instead you went on social media in search of a half-naked whore How did you lose interest and not even let me know The things I needed to do for our relationship to grow I thought I had given you every part of me, my mind, body and soul And yet you turned around, picked someone else and gave her the wifey role Communication is the key but it seems you changed to lock Here I am bragging on social media about a man that I aint even got Without any formal notice how was I to know That you thought the grass was green on the other side cause never gave our grass time to grow Be careful and don’t let love blind you like it did me You will find that the grass was only greener over there cause never saw the bullshit behind that tree What comes around goes around is what you need to remember So fall back and don’t crawl back when that lovely green grass dies and the weather gets cold in December.
